21 days of prayer + fasting begin January 8th
We believe prayer should be our first response, and not our last resort. Every 6 months, we set aside time as a church family to pause and intentionally seek the will of God for the season through the practice of prayer and fasting. 21 days of prayer and fasting begin Sunday, January 8th and culminates Saturday, January 28th.
PRAYER GATHERINGS

We have decided to spend each Wednesday night during the 21 days together in worship and guided prayer as a church family. Can’t make it in person? These events will be broadcast to lineage.live so you can join us from wherever you are!

Fasting
At Lineage, we encourage fasting for a series of days each year in the months of January and August. This is part of Pray First, a season of focused prayer and fasting as a church family. You may also choose to fast at other times during the year for your own spiritual development.
Fasting is choosing not to eat meals or certain types of food in order to disconnect from the physical. It’s not for purposes of self-punishment or from guilt but rather for the purpose of declaring our dependence on God.
Choosing the right fast based on your experience with the discipline is important. Those with special medical needs should consult a doctor before refraining from meals.
Types of Fasts
Complete Fast
In this type of fast, you drink only liquids, typically water with light juices as an option.
Partial Fast
This fast consists of fasting from 1 or 2 meals daily throughout the week.
Selective Fast
This fast involves choosing certain foods to refrain from (most commonly sweets, breads and meats).
